Garagem Automática, 2013 – 2016

Entre os anos de 1960 e 1980 trinta e quatro edifícios garagem automatizados foram construídos no entorno da região Central de São Paulo. Nessa série de fotografias, vídeo e áudio olho para o interior desses edifícios. Busco o encontro com esse corpo mecânico, uma garagem prototípica, a máquina de guardar máquinas. Construo um percurso por esse interior e sua atmosfera, permitindo que seu sentido como experiência se amplie. Surge um espaço paralelo e imaginado, povoado pelos rastros do tempo, do uso e das máquinas que movimentam esse corpo.

Between 1960 and 1980 thirty-four automatic garage buildings where constructed in São Paulo’s downtown district. In this series of photographs, video and audio extracts I look at the interior of these machines. I search for an encounter with this mechanical body, a prototypical garage, the machine that stores machines. The images invite us to travel through this body and its atmosphere. The space created can amplify the experience and possibility of meaning of this interiors.They become an imagined parallel chamber inhabited by the traces of time, use and the machines that operate in this interior.
